Liberation and Solidarity: unleashing the power of emancipation The
LGBT movement started with a promise: emacipation - for queer people,
but also for the society as a whole. Emancipation, liberation and
solidarity -- what does that mean in 2006? And who is left out by our
activism? Will solidarity with other emancipatory movements (eg.
feminism, immigrant rights movement) be the biggest challenge for us in
the 21 th century, but also our most promising vision? This workshop
aims to connect our current political work to the vision of
emancipation and find ways to make this a strong and empowering tool
for our activism. No lectures, much discussion!
