The European Community Organisation of Socialist Youth gathers
Socialist youth movements of the European Union, Central and Eastern
Europe and of the Mediterranean countries. It was founded in
November1992 in The Hague with the following objectives:

to promote and support the values of democratic socialism
*
to defend the interests of young people towards the European institutions
*
to promote European citizenship and the
emergence of a common identity in order to achieve mutual
understanding.
ECOSY is the youth organisation of the Party of European Socialists
(PES), works in close co-operation with the International Union of
Socialist Youth (IUSY) and is a member of the European Youth Forum.
